PROVINCIAL AWARD CEREMONY
AT BIRMINGHAM UNIVERSITY
JUNE 2023
Each year in June, The Masonic Province of Worcestershire, hold their “Award Ceremony” in the Great Hall of Birmingham University. Where Brethren, who have achieved a stage in their Masonic career, receive a recognition for attaining such status.
This can take the form of: -

Being awarded their first honour, which is usually awarded to a “Brother” who has held the position of “Worshipful Master of their Lodge, five years previously.
-
Receiving a promotion for services, and commitment, offered by that “Worshipful Brother” to the Lodge over the previous five years.
The year 2023, saw two of our brethren receive awards. They were: -

W. Bro. “Jake” Jacob (4th from the left on the photograph) who at the age of 98 is the oldest member of the Lodge, was promoted to Past Provincial Superintendent of Works (the highest award that a “Provincial Officer” can attain.

W.Bro. Keith Laurent (2nd from the right in the photograph) became a “Provincial Officer” when he received the rank of “Past Provincial Junior Grand Deacon”.
